End of Vacation

It's the end of my vacation, and I'm feeling pretty good, considering...

Had a great time at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, if you haven't been there, you need to spend a day in Monterey and enjoy it. My old Scout troop gave us tickets and 2 nights in a nice hotel on Cannery Row. That's how we spent Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday of this week. Thursday and today we've just been working around the house.

I made some of "my" barbecue sauce (watermelon and vinegar based), and we're going to have pork ribs tonight. I'm looking forward to that, I enjoy my watermelon ribs.

I was starting to feel pretty good, then I went to my Neurologist and got some very interesting news. The reason I've felt so bad is because I've had another relapse.  Dr Amir, prescribed new drugs, and some sort of a steroid drip. She thinks this will help me feel better. She also prescribed some drug that costs over $600 / month. How can drug companies charge that?Obviously my insurance company isn't too thrilled with that one. I thought there were lots of people that have MS, why do companies charge so much for a drug that lots of people could benefit from? I understand companies need to make money, but $600 per month per person? That seems just a little extreme.

So other than that we'll see how this all goes.

Cool Video

I heard about this group from Amber MacArthur (ambermac.com) thought it was a great song, then I saw the video, it was even better. It's nice when a group actually has a point and are willing to work to get that point across very plainly. The other song I heard from them on you tube was a bit too harsh for me. The video was on youtube.com you'll find it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuK2A1ZqoWs .

Hope you enjoy it!

Another Monday, Another Start

Here it is, another start. Am I the only one that wonders why we make such a big deal about time. I mean think about it, we can't control it, once it's gone we can't get it back, but we carefully track it. We count out each moment, and set arbitrary labels to each cycle, whether it be second, minute, day, week, month or year. Why do we do that?

Any way, it's time to start a new week. I get to go to work and help folks handle their computers with all the problems they are going to produce. It's amazing to me how so many bright people really can't get their PCs to cooperate with them. It's as if the machines have decided that they are going to take over and leave us to fend for ourselves.

Sunday was Father's Day, I'm amazed at the social side of church. On Mother's Day, we spend time and tell all the ladies in the congregation how wonderful they are. A month later, we spend time telling all the men how to be better men. I wonder if this is a tradition of my faith, or a part of my culture? Either answer makes for some interesting thought and discussion. It'd be interesting to see what the right answer is.

Well, I better get to work, I don't want to be late. I'll post more later

Let's Get Started

It's time to make this thing work. I've been working on Twitter, and think I have some things to say. I'd like to see if I can make a dent on the concept of a journal, let's see if this one works. I've tried so many times to say things and they just don't turn out.

It's been a great week, I helped a bunch of folks make their computers work. Spent time doing Scout Stuff, and even had some time for church. Had a ward pot luck tonight.

I'll update my personal profile, maybe even upload a picture or two and see where we go from here.
